This Privacy Policy explains how Openoffice Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Frisco, Denton County, Texas ("TandaSpace", "we", "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information when you use the TandaSpace website, mobile experience, and related services (the "Platform"). TandaSpace is a coordination platform for community-led rotating savings and credit associations ("ROSCAs" or "Circles").
We are the "controller" of the personal information described here. By using the Platform you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, password, profile photo, display name, and screen name (for pseudonymous community Circles).
- Identity and eligibility information: date of birth, government-issued identifiers, and, where required for compliance, tax information.
- Financial information: the funding instrument you connect (for example, a bank account or card token issued by a licensed payment processor), income tier or self-reported financial context used to match Circles, and transaction metadata such as contribution amount and cadence.
- Circle content: Circle names and descriptions you create, chat messages, comments, Circle Stories, photos, and any files you upload.
- Support and communications: messages you send to support@tanda.com or media@tanda.com.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, referrer URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Usage data: features used, Circles joined, notification interactions, and error events.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for authentication, preference cookies (for example, dark/light mode), and limited analytics cookies. You can control cookies through your browser.
- Approximate location: derived from your IP address for fraud prevention and localization; we do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission for a specific feature.
1.3 Information from third parties
- Authentication providers (for example, Google) when you use social sign-in.
- Payment and banking partners for verification, transaction status, and fraud signals.
- Fraud, risk, and compliance vendors that help us confirm identity and detect abuse.
1.4 What we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. We do not seek sensitive categories of data such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, or health data, and you should not upload such information to Circles or Circle Stories.
2. How We Use Information
- operate the Platform, create and manage your account, and enable your Circles;
- facilitate contributions, payouts, escrow, and the Guarantor Pool through licensed third-party financial partners;
- compute the on-Platform "TandaScore" from your ROSCA history and eligibility signals;
- send you transactional messages, in-Circle mentions, and other notifications you have enabled;
- prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, abuse, or unauthorized activity;
- comply with legal, regulatory, and tax obligations;
- improve the Platform, including debugging and analytics;
- with your opt-in, feature your Circle Story on marketing surfaces.
3. Legal Bases (for users in the EEA and UK)
We rely on: (a) performance of a contract with you; (b) compliance with legal obligations; (c) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Platform, balanced against your rights; and (d) your consent, where required (for example, for marketing or optional cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
4. How We Share Information
- With other Circle Members: your display name (or screen name for community Circles), avatar, contribution status, payout status, and any content you post inside the Circle.
- Publicly, only with your opt-in: Circle Stories and public comments appear on the Platform and may be embedded on our marketing pages.
- Service providers: hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, analytics, mapping, error monitoring, and payment processing partners acting on our behalf under written contracts.
- Financial partners: licensed payment processors, banks, or trust institutions that move or hold funds.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of Members or the public.
- Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to reasonable confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Pseudonymity in Community Circles
When you join a Circle outside your trusted network, TandaSpace displays a screen name and hue-based avatar to other Members instead of your legal name. We still retain your real identity internally for risk, compliance, and dispute resolution. Screen names reduce social exposure but are not a substitute for anonymity: your identity may be disclosed as required by law or to resolve a serious dispute.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and thereafter as needed to (a) satisfy legal, tax, accounting, and audit obligations, (b) resolve disputes and enforce agreements, and (c) maintain the historical integrity of Circles you participated in. Financial-transaction records are typically retained for a minimum of seven (7) years. Chat messages and Circle Stories persist for the life of the Circle unless removed by you or by us for policy violations.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access controls, server-enforced permissions on financial actions, and continuous monitoring. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for notifying us of any suspected compromise at support@tanda.com.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you;
- obtain a portable copy of your data;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of marketing communications at any time;
- lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@tanda.com. We will verify your identity before acting. Some rights are subject to limits — for example, we cannot delete records we are legally required to keep or that are needed to preserve the integrity of an ongoing Circle.
8.1 U.S. state privacy rights (California, Colorado, Virginia, and others)
Residents of certain U.S. states may exercise the rights described above and have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or "share" personal information for targeted advertising. To submit a request, email support@tanda.com. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf.
9. International Data Transfers
TandaSpace is operated from the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than yours. Where required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
10. Children
The Platform is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact support@tanda.com so we can delete it.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The Platform may link to third-party services (for example, payment processors, map providers, or news outlets covering Circle Stories). Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and we are not responsible for them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-Product or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
